Establishing Single X:
Marcelo has clearly had enough of being smashed and he goes to his strongest game – the X Guard. He starts by pushing his left leg in a little deeper, while stopping the mount with his right knee, to then bring his left foot up on Rafael’s right hip, establishing the Single X position.
Transition to full X Guard:
With Rafael pushing Marcelo’s foot off his hip, Marcelo takes the opportunity to preserve his guard by transitioning to the full X Guard.
