About me

This blog is written and maintained by Graham Barlow, a BJJ brown belt, martial arts writer and technology journalist from the UK.

Graham purple belt

I started martial arts back in 1993, and have been a teacher of Kung Fu and Tai Chi for a long time. I started BJJ in 2011 and immediately fell in love with it. Here was a martial art that finally offered the promise of technique overcoming brute strength. I got my blue belt in 1 year. If you’re really interested, you can read the longer version of my story here.

You can read my articles about MMA and Kung Fu for Jetli.com here and my articles about being a technology obsessed dad for D-A-D.co.uk here. I also run a blog called the Tai Chi Notebook.

I train at Gracie Barra Bath. All opinions here are my own and not reflective of my club or teacher.

Please use the form below to contact me, and I will reply. Or hit me up on Twitter: @gbarl or @notebookbjj. You can also find the BJJ Notebook on Facebook.

I hate contact forms too, but trust me – I actually reply 🙂
